Nicole C.

Nicole teaches violin, viola and beginner cello. She has been part of the Advantage Music team for over 3 years. She says, “music has been a passion of mine from an early age, and my recent work has led me to understand it as a universal language. It's unique, and unfailing ability to share powerful stories and emotions with a world of people continues to captivate me, and has become my inspiration for all that I do and all that I aspire to do.” Nicole majored in Music and Minored in Geospatial Sciences. She studied music composition and violin performance. She has performed with Stony Brook University Orchestra and Stony Brook Ringers (Handbell Choir). Composed a contemporary string quartet, which was premiered at the Staller Center in April 2013. Nicole writes organized, creative lesson plans for individual students to identify the most effective ways to help them meet new goals each week to help them pursue their musical dreams.


Steven C.

Steven is a graduate of Stony Brook University, and a violinist who began his studies at the age of 9. He quickly gained recognition by his mentors and joined the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York. Steven has had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall and regularly performs at Oheka Castle in the string quartet. He continues to expand his number of students and consistently receives recommendations from Connetquot and Sachem school district as an exceptional violin teacher. Many of his students get selected for local festivals due to their outstanding scores at NYSSMA. Steven loves working with his students and watch them grow and pursue musical careers. He has been teaching for Advantage Music since 2009 and we are extremely fortunate to have him apart of our team!

Mark M.

Mark has been teaching guitar at Advantage Music for almost 10 years. He says, "Growing up I have had many different teachers. I learned it is important to teach each student the music they enjoy and at the same time incorporate the theory. Learning the art of improvisation helped me become the musician I am today. I always encourage my students to learn and improve within every lesson" Mark currently plays in several cover bands and an original band called "Surrender". Mark shares his passion for music and loves teaching his students how to Rock!


Amanda S.

Amanda teaches piano, voice, and guitar lessons at Advantage Music. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Buffalo State College and is currently a New York State certified music teacher as well as a substitute music teacher in the Brentwood School District. She specializes in elementary classroom music and chorus. She has completed the Orff Schulwerk Level 1 training at Hofstra University. Amanda loves teaching because it allows her to share her passion of music with others. Her other hobbies include performing, writing/composing music, exercising, going to the beach and cooking.


Nick B.

Nick is a professional cellist who has an innate passion for his instrument & music. He is a recent college graduate with a BA in Cello Performance from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is a classically trained cellist who has experience in jazz performance as well as composition. He takes the listener on a journey through the eras of classical music with some of the most popular of cello repertoire; from the blissful and light-hearted melodies of the Classical era to the uniqueness and emotion-filled sounds of Twentieth Century music.


Amanda A.

Amanda has been the piano and vocal teacher every Saturday at Advantage Music for two years. She has been singing since she was 7 years of age due to her inspiration from Kelly Clarkson. She is incredibly passionate about singing and playing and loves to share her passion with her students. Amanda attended NYSSMA and achieved two perfect scores on the piano. She has also participated in SCHMEA for vocals and performed in four of her high school musicals including Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables, Bye Bye Birdie, and Hello Dolly. Throughout her college career at Suffolk Community College, she was involved in two separate acapella groups. Amanda says, “I strongly believe that music should be a fundamental part of education and should be enjoyed by all, not just something to be perfected necessarily”. She encourages her students to do their best and practice everyday!


Mike O.

Michael O'Rourke started playing the drums in fourth grade and immediately fell in love with the instrument.    He played throughout middle school and high school, where he developed a sound understanding of rudimentary applications, as well as an overall foundation of knowledge for music in general. After high school, he attended Ithaca college and Stony Brook university where he pursued English as his major. He currently plays in the band  "Soundswell,"  and several other projects. Michael has been teaching at Advantage music for 7 years, and he loves watching the progress that his students make on a weekly basis.    He says, "I love sharing the knowledge and skills that I have been given, and it's so rewarding to see the students smile and enjoy the fun that music brings."


Mitch K.

Long Island’s own Mitch Kamen has the wide-spread and eclectic experience in the music industry that most performers could only dream of. Mitch has played several national tours of musicals, performing on all types of saxophone, flute and clarinet. With a focus in Classical, Pop and Jazz music he is an advanced teacher in all woodwind and most brass instruments. He performs in many jazz bands and has experience as a NYSSMA judge. He has been with Advantage Music for over 10 years as an advanced teacher and musical instrument repair master.


Christian H.

Christian teaches electric as well as acoustic guitar and bass. The development of his unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Christian was always surrounded by different forms of music. Christian is incredibly passionate about the music he loves and has taught countless students throughout the years.


Joe L.

Joe is a guitarist who has an intense passion for music ever since he first picked one up at the age of twelve. Since then he has greatly pushed his creative boundaries through performing, composing, arranging and teaching. He attends the prestigious Mannes College of Music in New York City, where he studies classical guitar and composition with Frederic Hand. Joe's diverse musical interests include classical, contemporary classical, modern, rock, jazz, and electronic music. His background in jazz and rock guitar provide him with a unique skill set for playing the instrument. While in high school, he won the award for Best Overall Ensemble at the 2012 Festivals of Music jazz band competition as a member of the Connetquot High School Wind Machine Jazz Ensemble. He frequently performs his own compositions and arrangements, with appearances at the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York's Fall Festival, the Mid-Hudson Classical Guitar Society, and the Guitar Foundation of America's New York City Regional Symposium. Joe really enjoys teaching his students, helping them grow all while having fun at the same time.


Bobby Rondinelli

Bobby Rondinelli is a rock drummer best known for his work with the hard rock/heavy metal bands like Blue Öyster Cult, Rainbow, Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath, The Lizards, and Rondinelli. He has been teaching the drums at Advantage Music for over two years.

Francesca S.

Francesca is one of our fantastic vocal and piano instructors! She has such a love for music and for her children by putting together little concerts and performances to let their skills shine! She is from Sicily, Italy and has been studying music for over 25 years.


Rachel K

Rachel Kolsch

Rachel Kolsch always loved and had a passion for music. She graduated from Crane School of Music, she studied Music Education for two years and continued her major in Music Therapy. She started taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and continued on to the violin in the fourth grade. Her junior and senior year of high school she took on the viola and the cello. So she is multi-talented and can teach violin, viola, cello, and piano. Rachel is a wonderful teacher who enjoys watching her students excel and achieve their goals.

Mary has been teaching piano for over 30 years. She graduated from Hofstra University with her B.A. Mary is a professional cocktail and wedding pianist as well as pro keyboard player. She teaches all levels of NYSSMA and Music Theory. She has an abundant amount of teaching experience at various music stores and schools. Mary is well recognized for her loving heart, patience, as well as always having a cup of coffee in hand!
